Privacy Policy
Last updated 11 October 2026
Avett Pty Ltd (Avett) provides the Zevet public website and related council demonstration services. This policy describes how we handle personal information connected with zevet.app and the Zevet demonstration environment. It is informed by the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), which apply where the law covers the relevant organisation and activities.
1. Information we handle
When you contact us or request a demonstration, we may receive your name, work email address, council or organisation, role, state or territory, other contact details and enquiry text. Do not submit health information, children's information, identity documents, account numbers or other sensitive material through a public enquiry.
Technical records handled for website operations and security may include IP address, access time, requested page, device or browser information, error or security events. Demonstration sign-in also involves account identifiers and an authentication session cookie. Published planning and government source documents shown in demos may incidentally contain names or other personal information; their public origin does not remove applicable privacy duties.
2. Why we collect, use and disclose it
Information may be used to respond to requested contact, evaluate or arrange council demonstrations, operate and secure services, administer authorised business relationships, investigate incidents and meet applicable legal obligations. Demo-request details are not an automatic consent to unrelated advertising.
The website's online demonstration form currently has no connected enquiry-delivery integration. The API validates submissions but does not confirm delivery, queue a lead or arrange follow-up; use hello@avett.com.au to contact Avett. Email enquiries are processed using our email service providers.
3. Collection and choice
We normally collect enquiry details directly from you and technical information as you access the site. You may browse public pages without identifying yourself. Some contact and identity information is necessary to respond to a request or grant private demo access. If unsolicited sensitive or unnecessary material is received, we consider whether it must be deleted or de-identified where practicable and lawful.
4. Service providers and other recipients
We may provide necessary information to authorised Avett personnel, website hosting, email, support and security providers acting for us, and parties required or authorised by law. Authorised council-supplied data must also be managed under the relevant council instructions and agreements. We do not sell enquiry records to data brokers. We do not claim that all contractors or third-party sites have the same privacy practices.
5. Overseas processing
We use Vercel and other technical providers. Their infrastructure, support, security services and subprocessors may process information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries depending on the relevant arrangements. An Australian domain name is not a promise that processing occurs only in Australia. Where APP 8 applies to an overseas disclosure, Avett must consider and take reasonable steps appropriate to that disclosure. Specific customer-data residency, access and subprocessors must be verified and documented separately before any live council onboarding.
6. Cookies and security records
Public site browsing does not require an account. The separate demo sign-in currently issues an essential secure, HTTP-only session cookie (configured with a 30-day maximum age); signing out clears it. Security records for login attempts may include IP address and event time. Hosting providers may maintain operational logs. We have not identified optional advertising pixels or behavioural marketing analytics in the current public website application source. See our Cookies & Technical Data notice.
7. Security, retention and breach response
We use measures proportionate to relevant risks, including HTTPS, access controls, session protection and security monitoring. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Information is retained only as reasonably needed for its purpose, business records, legal obligations or disputes, and is subsequently reviewed for deletion or de-identification where lawful. Enquiries, account and service-provider logs have different retention periods; we do not promise one blanket fixed period. Incidents are assessed under any applicable Notifiable Data Breaches obligations, and eligible breaches are notified where required by law.
8. Automated analysis and decision-making
Zevet helps authorised professionals analyse planning, infrastructure and funding information. The current public site and demonstration-request process do not use a computer program to make decisions about a person that can reasonably be expected to significantly affect their rights or interests. From 10 December 2026, additional APP 1.7–1.9 transparency disclosures are required where all of the relevant statutory conditions apply, including personal information being used in a computer program to make or directly and substantially assist such a decision. If our processing changes to fall within this rule, we will update the policy to describe the kinds of data and decisions involved.
9. Access, correction and complaints
You can ask whether Avett holds personal information about you, request access or correction, or raise a privacy complaint at hello@avett.com.au (subject: “Zevet privacy”). We may verify your identity before providing personal information. We aim to respond within about 30 days and will explain any lawful access or correction exception. If the Privacy Act covers the matter and you are not satisfied, you may be able to complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
10. Children, changes and contact
Zevet is marketed to local governments and business professionals, not children, and we do not invite children to supply personal information. If this audience or the service changes we will reassess any relevant binding privacy codes. We review this policy when our services, laws or providers change.
